teamed up with Sheila Cooney Walker to develop a popular and highly
regarded Summer Theatre Camp. For nine years 50 children ages 8 to 14
gathered for two weeks to create a unique imaginative piece of theatre.
And this is the “stuff that dreams are made on” that Sheila and Jane
bring to the students.
Sheila Cooney Walker
has been working
professionally in theatre in the Pacific Northwest for the past 20
years. She received her BA in Education and Theatre from University of
Montana. It was at that time that she and Jane met and discovered that
they shared many of the same philosophies when teaching theatre to
children. Sheila has worked as an actress with many theatres in the
Seattle and Portland areas, most recently performing in OTHER WOMEN at
Theater! Theatre! in Portland. She performed in the opening show for a
new theatre, Arts Equity, in Vancouver, Washington. She is also
involved in voice-over work in the Portland area. Sheila has been an
active parent at her two children’s school for the past nine years,
volunteering in leadership roles with Music and Arts Partners, Art
Literacy, the Arts Festival and Talent Show. She has taught theatre and
enrichment classes for several years and also taught a summer arts camp
at the Portland Performing Arts Center.
"ACTING UP – ACTING OUT!

has been a dream of ours for many years.
We are excited about offering this wonderful experience to these
children."
